Taking off Christmas Eve but leaving you with this image from inside St. Peter Basilica in Vatican City. Best viewed on a large screen. Or, tap a photo and turn you phone on its side for a better view.
Best wishes to your and your family.
The photo is of Michelangelo’s dome in St. Peter’s Basilica. It was taken early one morning from near the Papal altar and the baldacchino that soars above it. The top of the baldacchino can be seen in the lower left portion of the photo.
The legend that wraps around the bottom of the dome begins above the baldacchino in this photo with the Latin words “TV ES PETRVS,” which translates to “You are Peter.” The full legend reads “Tu es Petrus et super hanc petram aedificabo ecclesiam meam, et tibi dabo claves regni caelorum” or “You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and to you, I will give the keys of the kingdom of heaven.”

Merry Christmas to you my childhood friend. Blessings to you and your entire family. Keep the pictures coming. We just got back from Paris and "got into" the reopened Notre Dame--- worthy of a trip to Paris just to see the restored church. Magnificent.
